Trophies & Awards:
Order placed and confirmed.
Expected to be ready by
January 29.
Promotion:
Steve Frymer is doing a
great job of tracking and announcing potential invitees.
Site:
Secured, confirmed. The
Champions will play in the school cafeteria, which normally has tables and
chairs for K-4 size students. Six
additional (adult size) eight foot tables and 30 chairs will be rented for
grade 4 – 12 players. This site,
adjacent to the Middle School was required due to space limitations at the
Middle School. It will provide a quiet
location for the Championship players.
If you remember, we had players in the back hallways at the Middle
School last year. This was a violation
of fire safety laws in addition to creating uncomfortable playing conditions.
TD:
Steve Frymer (not yet
confirmed)

Trophies & Awards:
Order placed and confirmed.
Expected to be ready by

Promotion:
Plans pending site
resolution.
Site:
None.
Milford Raddison declined us
due to space limitations. A smaller
tournament would be welcome.
Natick HS has site
contention with school auditorium in use in the morning. Trying to resolve contention issues. Other issues involve lack of adequate tables
on site. Cost of the number of
additional tables added to high custodial fee may well exclude HS from being
used.
TD:
Frank DelBonis (confirmed)
Robert Messenger (desired,
not yet approached with offer)
Trophies & Awards:
Order placed, not confirmed,
pending sponsorship level.
Expected to be ready by
April 2.
Coordinator’s comments in
general:
We are still looking for a
suitable, affordable site for April 6.
Desperately need more
“outsider” inclusion in MACA to bring new ideas, enthusiasm, volunteers and
resources into play.
Awards have been slightly
downscaled for a noticeable cost reduction.
Serious issues still
plaguing scholastics:
1.
Higher than expected
site costs in Natick.
2.
Higher promotional and
operational outsourcing expenses due to lack of willing, free volunteers.
3.
Need to start a search
for 2003-2004 sites. Natick facilities
are falling short in terms of capacity to handle more than the 150 player
average anticipated attendance next year.
Natick School Department also seeking to enhance their revenue stream
through facility rentals.
