Time Control: IM Horowitz will discuss his approach to chess understanding, which is based on the harmony of light and dark. Concepts related to pawn structures, trades, N vs B duels. He will show his favorite games illustrating these concepts.

Byes: The lecture will help the participants acquire a built-in "GPS" for their games!

  • Known for years as an ICC blitz legend, IM Horowitz quietly and steadily racked up rating points and norms, securing his 3rd IM norm at the 2013 Reykjavik Open in Iceland.
  • Known for frequenting Washington Square Park in New York City, IM Horowitz is also a chess teacher & instructor.
  • When he was younger, IM Horowitz received instruction from GM Dzindzichashvili.
