Byes: No ½-point byes are allowed in the Open section. One ½-point bye is allowed in the U1000 section
Prize Info: Winner will receive invitation to 6-player RR MA Girls' Invitational Championship, to compete to represent MA in the 2020 National Girls Tournament of Champions  , trophies will be awarded to the top 3 players in each section and to the top Unrated player in the Under 1000 Section.

Registration Information
Entry Fee: Reduced fee of $20 if mailed by 3/2 or paid online by 3/6. Regular fee of $25 at the door. Additional $15 discount for first-time players in a USCF-rated tournament in the Under 1000 section.

Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Official March ratings are used for pairings
  • Open to girls in grades K-12.
  • Open section is restricted to Massachusetts residents and students.
  • Under 1000 Section is open to out-of-state players
  • All electronic devices must be turned off completely and stored out of sight
  • Players are forbidden to have electronic devices on them at any time during the game
  • In the interest of the players, no spectators are allowed in the playing hall when games are in progress
  • Penalties are at the discretion of the TD and may include reducing the remaining time of the offending player or declaring the game to be lost by the offender

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
