Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • OVER THE BOARD event, Limited to 8 players born in 2004 or earlier.
  • No spectators or accompanying persons permitted, neither in tournament room nor in skittles room.
  • Must register and pay online in advance by 9:30am on October 17, and must agree to COVID safety requirements (to be provided to registrants by e-mail)
  • COVID safety requirements include complying with MA travel restrictions, wearing a mask indoors at all times, and maintaining a distance of 6 feet from other players and directors to the maximum extent possible.
  • Players should bring own water and/or coffee, as none will be available onsite.
  • Players will play on own designated boards, with opponents sitting offset from each other.

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
