Time Control: G/25,+5 (25 minutes per player with a 5-second bonus per move)
Rounds Time: Round 1: 9am; Round 2: 9:50am; Round 3: 10:40am; Round 4: 11:30am; Round 5: 12:20pm
Byes: Half-point bye issued to late arrivals who miss the first round
Prize Info: Prizes: 1st-3rd; 1st-3rd U500 and a prize for players who achieve 4 points but do not finish top 3, Prizes determined by: 1. Tournament score 2. Tiebreak (Buchholz formula).

Entry Fee: 25$ in advance. Registration closes 24 hours before the start time.
Registration - Onsite: Tournament is going to be held over our internal software. All participants will receive instructions and a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. NECS tournament director is going to be on live session with all players.

  • 5 round event
  • USCF membership required, if this is your child's first tournament please we will create one on site. (There is an additional fee for UCSF membership)
  • THIS TOURNAMENT IS MEANT FOR PARENTS THAT VALUE TIME. THERE IS NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. WE PROMISE TO START ON TIME, AND FINISH ALL 5 ROUNDS ON TIME.

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
