Entry Fee: Unrated, U600, U1000 = $30 / U1500 = $35 / OPEN = $40
Registration - Onsite: 11:30 -11:45 AM. Round 1 at 12:00 PM
Membership Requirement: USCF Membership Required in Rated Sections. Unrated Section No USCF Required

Tournament Sections: OPEN Championship = $300 b/15 paid entries $150 – $100 – $50, Special Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
U1500 Championship = $200 b/15 paid entries $100 – $50 – $50, Special Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
U1000 Championship = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Medals
U600 Championship = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Medals
UNRATED Championship = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Medals
Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Plenty of parking available, large parking lot in back, entrance
  • Special Large Trophies for each Section, last event had 70+ players
  • U1000 & U600 finish about 3:00-3:30 PM. Higher Sections Finish around 5:00 PM
  • Starts at 12 Noon. No break for lunch. Eat lunch beforehand or bring your own.
  • Anyone can always play "up" in a higher rated or unrated section
  • Chess Sets provided for Chess Tournament, Please bring a clock if you have one
  • Entry Fee is $5 more day of event onsite. cash only. Late Entries will receive 1/2 pt bye or be paired if possible
  • Sponsored & Organized by Brookline Chess & Ocean State Chess Association

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
