Entry Fee: CHAMPIONSHIP = $50 EF / U1600 / U1200 Section = $40 EF; FREE ENTRY = GM's, IM's, WGM's, & WIM's. Must be 1600+ to play in this section
Registration - Onsite: 1:20 - 1:45 PM. Round 1 at 2:00 PM - NEW POLICY: LATE & ONSITE Entries get 1/2 BYE. ROUND.1 PAIRED 30 MIN. BEFORE EVENT
Membership Requirement: USCF Membership Required in All Sections. No Unrated Section

Tournament Sections: CHAMPIONSHIP SECTION 1600+ = $300 – $200 – $100, Championship Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd
* Class Prize U1800 = Championship Trophy 1st Place (Championship Section)
U1600 SECTION = $200 – $100 – $50, Championship Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd
* Class Prize U1400 = Championship Trophy 1st Place (U1600 Section)
* Brookline Prize = $300, Very Big Championship Trophy - (OPEN / U1600 Sections)
* Biggest Upset = $50 Prize - (OPEN / U1600 Sections)
U1200 SECTION = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
* Class Prize U800 = Trophy 1st Place (U1200 Section)
Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • NEW POLICY: ONSITE ENTRY gets 1/2 BYE, ROUND 1 PAIRING DONE 30 MIN. BEFORE EVENT. Advance Registration online by FRIDAY 5/3/2024
  • 2-4 GM's, Multiple NM's, usually playing in tournament. Rated as a BLITZ Event. BLITZ RATING WILLBE USED FOR PAIRINGS, PRIZES
  • 14SS, G/3;+2 – 7 Double Rounds, 3 minute games with 2 second increment (14 Games).
  • Plenty of FREE PARKING IN BACK of St. Mary's School. Lot entrance on Left side of school. TOURNAMENT ENTRANCE IN REAR. Look for signs
  • Additional parking across street in lot. Only 5 Minute walk from MBTA “Brookline Village" station off the Green Line
  • Round 1 starts promptly at 2:00 PM. All Sections finished by 5:00 PM. USCF Tiebreaks used for Trophies, Cash Prizes are split w/ ties
  • Register Early - Maximum 85 Players. Last 3 Brookline Chess Events had 70-80+ players. ALL Sections for Both Adults & Kids
  • Entry Fee is $10 more day of event onsite. Late Entries Day of Event may receive 1/2 pt bye
  • Chess sets & clocks provided for Tournament. Please bring clock if you have one.

  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
