  • WaterFire is a celebration of community and beauty. An experience that embraces all of the senses and all of the city!
  • Boat rides on the Providence River available, restaurants, art, history, culture, music, shopping, food vendors
  • This event is open to both kids and adults, families are welcome to join th fun, so much to do at WateFire
  • Note: This is not one of our regular Chess Tournaments, but a fun free casual chess playing event by the water
  • Casual Unrated Free Blitz Chess Games to help celebrate chess in Rhode Island
  • Get to meet and play against the Ocean State Chess Association Board of Directors, Our TD's, and R.I players for chance to win Chess Medals and have fun!
  • We will be located on Corner of the College St. Bridge & Canal Walk area of WaterFire in Downtown Providence, RI

  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
