Byes: One 1/2 point bye in Rounds 1-3, must commit by end of registration.
Prize Info: Champion: $800-500-300, Top U2300, U2100 - $200; U2200: $600-350-250, Top U1800, U1600 - $200 , U1700: $500-300-200, Top U1300, U1100 - $200; Trophies to section winners; U1200/U800/NR: Trophies (see event flyer).

Entry Fee: Top three sections: $105 by Nov 5; $115 by Nov 7; $130 by Nov 8; $160 thereafterOther sections: $55/$65/$80/$100. GMs/IMs FREE. Other titled players, NM or higher, $20 less.
Registration - Onsite: Online by 12:30 PM same day; 1/2 point bye enforced one hour ahead of Round 1 start.
Membership Requirement: Champion Section: Restricted to “CT players” rated at least 1800. “CT players” are any player with sufficient contact to CT, i.e., residence, school, employment, etc. (other contact possible). All other sections are not restricted and OPEN to players from

Tournament Sections: Champion $2,000: $800-500-300, $200 to Top U2300, U2100, Trophy to winner.
U2200 $1,600: $600-350-250, $200 to Top U1800, U1600, Trophy to winner.
U1700 $1,400: $500-300-200, $200 to Top U1300, U1100, Trophy to winner.
U1200 Trophies to Top 5, U900, U700.
U800 Trophies to Top 5, U500, U300.
NW (NorthWest-rated only) Trophies to Top 5, may be expanded based on registration.

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
