Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • OPEN TO OUT-OF-STATE PLAYERS
  • St. Mary Bay View is the oldest and most prestigious All -Girls School in Rhode Island founded in 1874
  • This is the First Open Girls/Women's Championship ever held in R.I. History.
  • Early Registration by 1/4/2025. Regular Registration $5 more until 1/10/2025. Day of event $5 more. May be paired with Late entries
  • 1st Place Championship Winner Must be a Rhode Island Resident, However, 1st Place Championship Trophies provided for out-of-state players who participate
  • Chess sets & clocks provided for Tournament. Tournament will be held in the Library - Plenty of Parking
  • Late entries 1/2 pt. bye, or be paired with late entries Byes must be requested in advance. Tournament will run continuous

  • Ocean State Chess Association is the Official Rhode Island State Affiliate of the United States Chess Federation

  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
