Tournament Sections: OPEN = $250 - $100, Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

U1700 = $100 - $50, Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
* Class Prize Top U1400 1st Place Trophy (U1700 Section)
U1200 = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Medals
U800 = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Medals
Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • FREE PIZZA LUNCH for All Players!!! POPULAR EVENT - 100+ players for tournament.
  • Entrance to tournament on Left Side & Rear of Building (Cahir Street, Near Tennis Courts) see signs
  • FREE Entry for GM’s, IM’s, FM's, WGM’s, WIM’s. Scholarships available for hardship – email: frank@oceanstatechess.com
  • U1200 / U800 SECTIONS:(Early-Bird) $30 by Fri. 5/17. Regular Entry $35 from 5/18 – 5/28
  • OPEN / U1700 SECTIONS: (Early-Bird) $35 by Fri. 5/17. Regular Entry $40 from 5/18 – 5/28
  • U800 & U1200 done by 3:00 PM. U1700 & OPEN will finish around 3:30-4:00 PM.
  • 1st-TIME TOURNAMENT DISCOUNT (Age 3-18) = $44 Includes FREE $24 USCF Membership. (Age 19-23) = $53 Includes FREE $33 USCF Membership
  • Other 1st-TIME DISCOUNTS for ADULTS (Age 24-64) & SENIORS (Age 65-99) - Entry includes FREE USCF Memberships (see website).
  • Chess sets and clocks will be provided. Late Entry $10 more Fri 5/29 & Sat. 5/30 the day of event. Late Entries may receive 1/2 pt. bye or be paired if possible

  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
