Registration Information
Entry Fee: $20 mailed by 10/24 or online by 10/27, $30 at site. $15 discount to first time players (first USCF rated event) in U400 section.
Registration - Onsite: Registration ends at 8:45 a.m.

Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Minimum rating of 1600 to play in the Championship Section. This can be the player's official or current rating, whichever is higher.
  • Massachusetts Junior Champion title to top scoring Mass. resident or student in the Championship Section.
  • Free entry to the 2018 Massachusetts Open to the winner of each section.
  • Chess mug to the winner of each section.
  • Free chess pencil for all players.
  • Puzzle contest after round 4 for players in the U400 and U800 sections.
  • New players: enter ID number as 00000000, pay for USCF and MACA memberships, send email to info@masschess.org with player's name, address and date of birth.
  • USCF membership required for all players. MACA membership required for Mass. residents.
  • Please bring chess sets and clocks if possible.

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
