Byes: 1/2-point bye available in any round, but must notify organizer in advance.
Prize Info: Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all sections. Plus score medals.

Registration Information
Entry Fee: FREE - There is no entry fee for this event but players who play in a rated section are expected to have up to date USCF memberships. Preregistration is strongly recommended. Venue may fill up and we may not be able to guarantee availability if you do not preregister.
Registration - Onsite: Subject to availability from 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM.
Membership Requirement: USCF membership required in Open rated section and Age 14 & Under rated section.

Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Novice and 14 & Under sections should finish around 12:30 PM. Open should finish around 1:30 PM.
  • All students from Grades K-12 may always play in a higher section.
  • Please bring a chess clock if you have one. Chess sets will be provided.
  • Pre-registered players should confirm no later than 9:40 AM.
  • There will be also be a separate practice tournament and workshop for players who might not yet be ready for their first tournament. To sign up a player for this workshop email Eduardo directly at epaguag@gmail.com
  • Use the entrance in the courtyard to the left of the main entrance. There will be signs outside.
  • Parking available in the lot across the street and lot at the corner of Carpenter and Dean. Street parking is also available.

  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
