Rounds Time: Round 1 @ 10:00 AM - EVENT WILL NOT BE DELAYED - Late entries the Day of Event may get 1/2 Bye. Register Early to save $
Byes: 1/2 bye in advance before round 1. Limit 1 bye per player, unless zero-point bye (withdrawal)

Entry Fee: $40 Early Bird Reg. by 3/11 (Save $), $47 until Friday 3/14, Day of Event $55 on 3/15

Tournament Sections: HIGH SCHOOL - Grade 9-12 (Individual & Teams)
MIDDLE SCHOOL Grades 6-8 (Individual & Teams)
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Grades K-5 (Individual & Teams)
Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Out-of-State players can win 1st place in every section; must be from same school: Teams can have three or more players. Top 4 scores will be used for team score
  • Tournament will START ON-TIME at 10:00 AM; Pairing done at 9:40 AM. Late Entries after 9:40 may receive 1/2 pt. bye
  • This is Both a Scholastic Multi-State INDIVIDUAL & TEAM Championship. OPEN TO STUDENTS FROM RI, MA, CT, & EVERY STATE. Team players will not paired against each other unless they are competing for 1st Place champion.
  • Team Competition: Each school's team score is calculated by adding points from the top 4 players on that team. Minimum of 3 players for a team. Maximum limit is 7 players per team. Teams with 8-10+ players or more must register two teams A & B Teams
  • Players will enjoy this beautiful college venue with multiple skittles rooms provided. Plenty or parking. College cafeteria will be open for lunch
  • SIBLINGS DISCOUNT -$5 for each sibling reg. by 3/13, TEAM DISCOUNT: Schools with 4 OR MORE PLAYERS Eligible for a -$5 per person "ENTRY FEE DISCOUNT."
  • 1st TIME TOURNAMENT DISCOUNT: If this is your 1st Tournament we will pay for your $24 USCF membership included with your $44 Entry Fee,
  • Please bring a chess clock if you have one, clocks are limited. Chess Sets will be provided

  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
