The meeting was called to order by President George Mirijanian at 2:15 p.m.
In attendance were Vice President Steve Frymer, Treasurer Bob Messenger (acting
as clerk), and directors Ken Ballou, and Gus Gosselin. Ken Belt arrived at 2:40
p.m. Guests were Steve and Marshall Dann.
Minutes for the November, December and January meetings could not be approved
because they had not been submitted and Clerk Robby King was not present.
Treasurer's Report
Bob Messenger presented the January 2006 report, with net income of
$939.64.
Nominations
The following nominations were made for the upcoming MACA election:
President: Robby King, George Mirijanian
Vice President: Steve Frymer
Treasurer: Bob Messenger
Clerk: Steve Dann
Director: Ken Ballou, Ken Belt, Gus Gosselin, Joe Sparks
Election chairman Ken Ballou will talk to Maryanne Reilly and Robby King to
see whether they are running for director.
Bob Messenger will print mailing labels for the election mailing on March
1st. Ballots will be mailed by first class mail. The ballot return date will be
Friday May 27th by mail or Saturday May 28th in person by 12:00 noon at the
Massachusetts Open.
Scholastic Committee Report
Bob Messenger presented financial reports for Qualifier #4, which made a
profit of $538.08, and the Holiday Team Tournament, which made a profit of
$384.87.
Motion 06-xxx:
Move to waive reimbursement for USCF dues paid for
Natick High School in the Holiday Team Tournament, and for the President to
write a letter to Joel Dickerson thanking him for the use of Natick High School
as the site for the tournament. (Ballou/Messenger). PASSED.

Tournament Coordinator Report
Bob Messenger reported that the Massachusetts Game/60 and Massachusetts Open
contracts have been signed and TLAs submitted. Both tournaments will be held at
the Radisson Hotel in Marlborough (soon to be renamed The Hotel Marlborough).
The Greater Boston Open and Pillsbury Memorial might be held at the Natick
Senior Center.
Auction
George Mirijanian reported that he had received a donation of approximately
$500 worth of books from Bob Supnik in addition to the donation from Bob Barry.
Mirijanian suggested that proceeds from the auction should be applied to the
Harry Nelson Pillsbury memorial plaque project.
Pillsbury Project
George Mirijanian reported that he has been working with the Reading
Historical Society to try to get permission from the cemetery trustees to put a
plaque on Harry Nelson Pillsbury's grave. This requires genealogical research to
find a living relative of Pillsbury. The 100th anniversary of Pillsbury's death
will be June 17th 2006. Paul McGinnis of Andover is pursuing a separate project
in Somerville which is not connected with MACA.
