MACA Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President George Mirijanian at 2:19 p.m.. In attendance were Treasurer Bob Messenger (acting as clerk) and directors Robert King, Larry Eldridge and Ken Ballou. Minutes MOVED to approve the minutes of the October board meeting (Ballou/Eldridge). PASSED without dissent. Former Clerk Robert King presented notes from the June board meeting. He will email minutes of that meeting to the board for approval at a later meeting. Treasurer's Report Bob Messenger presented the October 2006 report, with a loss for the month of $621.21. MOVED to approve the treasurer’s report (Ballou/Eldridge). PASSED without dissent. Messenger presented a financial report on the Greater Boston Open, which made a profit of $3.01. MOVED to approve the Greater Boston Open report (Eldridge/Ballou). PASSED without dissent. Messenger presented a financial report on Spiegel Cup Qualifier #2, which made a profit of $656.19. MOVED to approve the Spiegel Cup Qualifier #2 report (Ballou/Eldridge). PASSED without dissent. Scholastic Committee Report The board informally discussed the schedule for upcoming scholastic tournaments, with the following tentative dates: Holiday Team January 28th, possibly at either Natick High School or Newton South High School; the Spiegel Cup and Gus Gosselin Grade Championship on February 11th, possibly at the Courtyard Marriott hotel in Marlborough; the Hurvitz Cup in March, possibly at Natick High School or Newton South High School. Election Commission Report Ken Ballou reported that he had received the following nominations: for President, Robert King; for Treasurer, Robert Messenger; for director, Robert King, John Dould, Ken Belt, Maryanne Reilly, and George Mirijanian. Membership Secretary Report Bob Messenger reported the following membership totals:
Adult: 248
Total: 1143, which which 881 are members of MACA. The meeting was adjourned at 3:47 p.m. |
