Tournament Sections: OPEN SECTION = $1,000 Prizes + Trophies. $500 for each Rapid & Blitz Tournament: $250 - $150 - $100; Championship Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd
* Class Prize = Top U1900 - 1st Place Championship Trophy for Both RAPID & BLIZ (Open Section)
* Class Prize = Top U1600 - 1st Place Championship Trophy for Both RAPID & BLIZ (Open Section)

High School Section (Grade 9-12) – Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place, for Both RAPID & BLITZ
Middle School Section (Grade 6-8) – Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place, for Both RAPID & BLITZ
Elementary School Section (Grade K-5) – Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place, for Both RAPID & BLITZ

  • Open to Out-of-State Players. Plenty of parking in Rear, Entrance to tournament in Back, See signs.
  • Free Pizza for players signed up for both events
  • GM's, IM's, WGM's, WIM's FREE, Email Organizer. EF Not deducted from prizes.
  • Out-of-State Players eligible for 1st, 2nd 3rd place trophies; Special (separate) 1st Place State Championship Trophy RI Champion and Scholastic Elem, Middle, & High School State Champions for RI residents. All eligible for U1900, U1600, U1300 Trophies
  • SPECIAL R.I. DISCOUNT: Pay Only $20 for Both Events for players Gr. 6-12 who play in the (RI) OSCA HS / MS Scholastic Chess Leagues – Register by 3/12
  • USCF DISCOUNTS: 1st-Time USCF Tournament (Age 3-18) Discount – Entry Includes FREE $24 New USCF Membership for only $39 (Not Renewal); Also 1st-Time Tournament (Age 19-24) Discount – Entry Includes FREE $33 USCF Membership for only $48 (Not Renewal)
  • Late Entry on 3/13 (Day Before) & 3/14 (Day of Event) will be $10 more.
  • Siblings Discount – 2 Siblings (Gr. K-12) – 2 Entries for both Rapid and Blitz Events -$10, Only $20 Each for Both Events
  • R.I. Rapid Championship from 10:00 am -1:00 pm (2.5 - 3 hours). R.I. Blitz Championship from 1:30-3:45 pm (2 hours); Lunch Break 12:45-1:15 pm, Free Pizza for players who register for both the Rapid & Blitz Championship events
  • Chess Sets & Clocks provided. Players can take one 1/2 pt. bye requested in advance

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
