MINUTES OF MACA ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING – 5/28/2012
President G. Mirijanian called the Annual Membership Meeting to order at 9:00 AM at the Best Western Hotel in Marlboro, site of the 81st Massachusetts Open. Ten people were in attendance: President George Mirijanian, Treasurer Robert Messenger, Clerk Nicholas Sterling, Directors Stephen Dann, Brian Mottershead, and Richard Kinne, and four additional MACA Members: Tom Provost, Robert Norris, Eduardo Valadares, Edward Chiu. A quorum of thirty being required by the Bylaws, the meeting was declared inquorate.
Election results were read by Elections Commission Member G. Mirijanian. It was agreed to thank the Elections Commission and to vote at the June Board Meeting to dispose of the ballots.

(ii) (1) Special Fund income year-to-date this year as of 5/28/12: $3965.98, with $608.82 dividends. (2) Special Fund income year-to-date last year as of 5/30/11: $2340.99, with $631.44 dividends. (iii) (1) Special Fund expenses year-to-date this year as of 5/28/12: $2914.31. (2) Special Fund expenses year-to-date last year as of 5/30/11: $5540.05. (iv) (1) Special Fund net income year-to-date this year as of 5/28/12: $1051.67. (2) Special Fund net income year-to-date last year as of 5/30/11: $3199.06 net loss. (v) Changes in Fund Balances: Year-to-Date: $32.64 net gain. (vi) Total Assets as of 5/28/12: $59050.05. (vii) Reserve for Chess Horizons Expenses: $4050.
Membership: B. Messenger read the 5/25/12 Membership numbers as follows: Adults 204 (-11); Junior 385 (+45); Life 215 (-3); Affiliate 2 (+1); Complimentary 4 (-2); D. Library 5 (=); D. Subscriber 9 (-20); Exchange 16 (=); Prison 280 (+18); Subscriber 20 (-4). Total change in Membership and Subscribers: +31.
President G. Mirijanian adjourned the Annual Membership Meeting at 9:30 AM. The date, time, and place for the June Board Meeting are TBD as of the Meeting. [Clerk’s NOTE: The Meeting date, place, and time were subsequently set for Sunday 6/10/12 at 6:00 PM at the Papa Gino’s in Natick.]
