Board of Director Meeting Minutes

Virtual Meeting

ATTENDEES: Oleg Poliannikov (President), Steve Winer (Vice President) Bob Messenger (Treasurer), Andrew Hoy (Clerk), Jeff Caruso, Nicholas Sterling, Prathiba Yuvarajan, and Yi Wang.

1. Meeting Minutes

MOTION: Approval of minutes from the April 2, 2020 board meeting (OP/SW). VOTE: Passed, 7-0

2. Elections

MACA needs to end voting within 7 days of the annual meeting. Since it is likely that the MA Open will be cancelled, holding the annual meeting virtually was discussed.

MOTION: Move the annual meeting to a virtual format (date and time remain unchanged). VOTE: Passed, 8-0

The state is currently shutdown for gatherings until at least May 18 . There is a possible financial

penalty for cancelling the event, but the Board agreed unanimously that postponing is the only viable option. Oleg will send an email to the membership about the decision. Similarly, the Mass G/60 is likely to be cancelled as well, the Tournament Committee will monitor the situation and take appropriate action.

MOTION: Postpone the MA Open until further notice. VOTE: Passed, 8-0

The deadline for nominating scholastic state champions is June 20th, although that date does have some flexibility.

4. Next Meeting

Next Board meeting will be May 28, 2020 at 7pm (later postponed until June 9th)
