Specifically for players in the 1000 to 1800 USCF rating range, my approach is to get you to Expert strength as quickly as possible. My coaching is intensive and tends to focus on balancing logic, creative thinking, and specifically strategy. Rates are reasonable, based on rating, and if you feel you aren't making progress I will refund the first 3 hours.
I also provide Skype lessons and group lessons at a discount.
My Background
I am a national master who has been playing chess for over 16 years and teaching it for over 12 years. I am currently a student at Harvard Business school and a board member of the Boylston Chess Foundation.
Some highlights:
  • Former head coach of the Meenakshi temple in Houston, TX coaching 30+ students from beginner to advanced
  • Ran several chess camps and coached players young and adult for the past 12 years
  • Given several lectures and seminars including "Dynamic Piece Value" Seminar at Boylston chess club
  • Won multiple tournaments including the Louisiana Pro-Am and Grand Picayune Open
